3. Ethical & Statutory Exceptions to Confidentiality

In accordance with Kenyan Law, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council guidelines, and professional mental health codes of ethics, confidentiality may only be broken under exceptional circumstances:

  • Where there is clear, imminent danger of serious physical harm or loss of life to the client or another person;
  • Where child abuse, neglect, or harm to vulnerable dependents is disclosed;
  • Under a direct, legally valid subpoena from a court of competent jurisdiction.

4. Digital & Telehealth Data Protection

Online video sessions conducted via Google Meet or Zoom utilise industry-standard end-to-end encryption. No sessions are recorded by practitioners, and clients are strictly prohibited from recording sessions without mutual, written authorization.
